How to bind a phrase to a key in Dota 2?

How to bind a phrase to a key in Dota 2: Dota 2 is a dynamic game, and therefore there is no time to write something in the chat for a long time. At the same time, there are phrases that are quite often used. Meanwhile, anyone who has played Dota for more than one evening has probably met players who leave long meme phrases in the chat.

In this guide, we will explain how to enter such phrases with a single keystroke.

How to use the chat wheel and phrases

How to bind a phrase to a key in Dota 2: The easiest way to assign a key to a phrase is to use the in-game tool, that is, using "Phrases" . This can be done as follows:

  1. Go to the game settings (the "Management" item, which we need, opens first by default).
  2. Click on the "Phrases" icon, which is located at the bottom of the window.
  3. A list of standard phrases will open. Opposite each there will be a field in which you can enter a key to which this phrase will be attached.

In addition, there are "Chat Wheels" . With one button, you can call up a convenient menu, where there will be several phrases to choose from. There are only two wheels - main (Y by default) and additional (U by default). The wheel itself can be more flexibly customized:

  1. Go to the game settings.
  2. Click on the Customize Chat Wheels icon at the bottom of the window.
  3. The settings menu will open. There you can select the phrases you want. Dota Plus subscribers can also add emojis, graffiti and special sound effects there.

How to bind your text through the console

How to bind a phrase to a key in Dota 2: If you want to bind a phrase to a key that is not in the list of suggested ones, you need to use the console. We wrote about how to open it in the previous guide .

In the open console you need to enter the command " bind button say " phrase " ", where instead of "button" enter the desired key, and instead of "phrase" - the desired phrase.

For example:  bind u say “hello there ”

After you enter this command, when you press the U key in the chat, the message " hello there " will appear .

Well, of course, use this knowledge wisely. Nobody likes spammers, let alone those who use phrases to insult players. Be respectful to others and good game to you!
