 The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (the MES) is the main governmantal body ensuring the state policy in education, scientific, engineering, and innovative activity and intellectual property rights; directes and coordinates within its scope the activity of other organs of executive power.
MES generalizes practice of use of the legislation concerning which belong accordingly its powers, develops propositions on improvement of the legislation and when due hereunder submits them for consideration to the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ukraine.
The main objectives of the MES:
● Development and realization of a state policy in sphere of formation, scientific, scientifically - technical, innovative activity and intellectual property.
● Maintenance of development educational, scientific and scientifically - technical potential of Ukraine.
● Forecasting and definition of prospects and priority directions of development in sphere of formation, scientific, scientifically - technical, innovative activity and intellectual property according to requirements of the person, a society, the state.
● Drafting of laws and legal background for functioning of educational, scientific and intellectual property rights protection systems
● Support of national scientific-and-technical information system
● Organizational provision for protection of intellectual property rights
● Supervising the realization of state policy in education, scientific, engineering, and innovative activity and intellectual property rights.
● Forecasting and definition of prospects and priority directions of development in sphere of formation, scientific, scientifically - technical, innovative activity and intellectual property according to requirements of the person, a society, the state.
● Maintenance of integration of domestic formation and a science, the state system of protection of intellectual property in world space, saving up and protecting the state interests.
