Mr. Furleiter is an investor and director in a number of ventures in the New York City area including a major supermarket (M & I International Foods), a Night Club Cabaret (The National) and several real estate investment companies. Mr. Furleiter is co-founder of Ukrstandard-USA, Ltd., a company that has been given exclusive rights in the North American region by an arm of the Ukrainian government agency to certify test laboratories and organizations for the testing and certifying of goods and products destined for Ukraine thus eliminating much of the paperwork, expense and possible misunderstandings involved in exports to that country.

Mr. Furleiter, who came to the United States in the early 1970’s, was the founder of one of the country’s leading fish smoking facilities whose products, sold worldwide, have won numerous accolades from local and regional media and food critics. He has also been instrumental in introducing food products from the Ukraine, Russia and other East European countries into the market and then have others emulated his marketing insights.

Mr. Furleiter supports a variety of artistic, charitable and educational organizations. He has sponsored a number of musicians and singers from Eastern Europe to come to the United States and perform at various venues.
